Abstract

Importance. Studies on generations’ life changes related to the text/contextual congruence contributes to the understanding of (un-) safe construction by generations of historical scenarios of socio-cultural reality, which is constantly changing.

The article purpose: to specify the constructive basics of historical scenarios on changing social-cultural reality.

The methodology and scientific approaches. The mechanism for historical scenario construction by generations (networks of cohorts with similar social-cultural experience, close in years of birth and having common historical context) is analyzed within the author’s inter-generative approach, which organizes the knowledge on generations using the interdisciplinary capabilities of social sciences.

The main results. The constructive basics of historical scenarios on social changes was specified with the examined methodologies applied for the phenomenon of a generation (from the XVI to XX century) and the empirical study on generations’ socio-cultural interaction. It was noted that the mechanism balancing contemporaries’ socio-cultural styles was mediated by dual processes of socio-cultural interaction – generational text (as a presentation of social positions, socio-cultural orders and artefacts relevant to a particular socio-cultural style) and social-cultural context (a non-hierarchical socio-cultural form of life in space-time, historical events and discourse).

Conclusions. Historical scenarios of changing social-cultural reality were concretized, which was important for the practice: social-cultural reality was a result of joint construction by actors of independent generational spaces. An opinion was substantiated that social-cultural balancing of generations is not an obstacle to interactions, cultural communications; it did not contribute to cultural «gaps» between generations, but meant the need to restructure reality for further socio-cultural movements. Further research should implement retrospective historical analyzes and examine specific conditions of modern reality to fill the proposed theoretical constructs with a practical experience.
